Ava
Ava has just completed a 10 week course of hydrotherapy here at Ace Canine for her recent diagnosis of hip dysplasia. Ava was on a course of pain management medication provided by her vet. There was also talks of a possible hip replacement for her. Since starting hydrotherapy, Ava has managed to gain muscle on her hind limbs, (to which she is now even at 34cm!), is off her pain medication and doesn’t need a hip replacement.
We are so proud of this girl, her dedicated owners and the progress she has made. Incredible work Ava!!
Millie
The remarkable Millie!
Millie first came to us in March 2024 after having an accident in her home which resulted in a spinal injury.
We created an extensive hydrotherapy programme personally designed for Millie which included some home adjustments to give Millie the best chance at her rehabilitation.
We are so proud of this girl and her progress. Millie is now living a normal life at home and she is now on a maintenance programme with us to ensure we keep her strong and spot any early signs of changes as Millie ages.
Well done beautiful girl. We are SO proud of you!
Thor
Thor, an 8 year old Springer Spaniel, was referred to us following a fusion to his left elbow after sustaining a fracture. Following surgery, Thor was reluctant to bare weight on his forelimb, making rehabilitation essential to help him regain strength, confidence and mobility.
We began with pool therapy, using the buoyancy of the water to encourage safe weight bearing whilst improving his range of motion in a controlled, low-impact environment. As Thor progressed, his confidence and strength continued to grow!
Today, Thor is walking confidently on his left forelimb and has been given the fantastic news that he has been signed off from his vet practice. He also is now allowed off-lead freedom and able to live a happy, active and very normal life!
Thor’s journey is a wonderful example of how hydrotherapy, combined with expert veterinary care and a tailored rehabilitation programme, can make a life changing difference!
